Rainbow Surgery            -              Saturday 6th October     10:30- 12:00 (under 65’s)

Manea Surgery                 -              Saturday 13th October  9:00 – 11:00

Rainbow Surgery            -              Monday 19th November 13:30 – 15:30 (age 65-70)

We would kindly ask that patients aged 65 and over (Rainbow patients 70 and over) attend between 9:00 and 10.30 and under 65's, attend between 10.30 and 12.00 on the 6th October.  We will have more staff available to give the vaccines than we have in previous years and are intending to vaccinate as many as we can on that day.

Rainbow will be holding another clinic on Monday 19th November between 13:30 and 15:30 for patients aged 65 – 70. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not have received all our vaccines in time for the Clinic on the 6th October.

This year there are 3 different types of vaccine, which have been designed to give the best possible protection to different age groups. The vaccine for the under 65’s covers the 4 most common predicted 2018 strains instead of the 3 covered in past years, so 25 – 30% more protective.  For the over 65s, the other new vaccine covers 3 strains and has an extra ingredient to make the vaccine work better, called an adjuvant.  This might give a slightly sore arm for a day or two, but a much better immunity against the flu.

Text messages and/or emails are being sent to all patients for whom we have details recorded to advise them of the clinic details. Please could you let us know if you have changed your mobile numbers and or/email addresses so we can update our records.

The Fenland Group Practice purchases flu vaccines on your behalf so please have your vaccine at any of the above clinics.

We would ask you to help us by removing your coats or jackets as soon as you check in and roll your sleeves up ready! We will not be in a position to deal with any other requests during these clinics.  We have tried to accommodate requests in the past but we will not be able to this year.  Please do not put our very helpful staff in the awkward position of having to say no!

If you are eligible but do not wish to have your flu vaccination this year please let the surgery know as soon as possible so we can record this on your medical records.

Let’s keep as healthy as we can this winter and not let flu get us if we can avoid it!

Welcome Ramsey Rainbow Surgery Patients

We are delighted to announce that Fenland Group Practice welcomed Ramsey Rainbow Surgery on April 1st 2018. We have received permission from NHS England for a full merger in late May, when we will be able to operate as a single surgery from 4 sites in Fenland.  We are especially pleased that Rainbow comes with a full complement of staff including the wonderful GP's Dr Aran and Dr Rita Aggarwal, who have served their patients for many years.

For our Manea, Wimblington and Doddington patients this will probably mean no real change, although Arun and Rita may be consulting you on the telephone.  For our Benwick patients you will have the equally convenient Rainbow Surgery at your service if needed.
For our Ramsey patients this will probably mean no real change, although telephone consultations could be with any of the GPs.

With this expansion to our service, we hope to be more flexible and look at new services in keeping with current government policies.

More news to come!

The law exists to give people better control over what organisations can do with their data. To comply with this legislation FGP has produced a Privacy Notice which tells you how we use the information we hold about you. You will find this Privacy Notice in the GDPR section of the website where we will also be adding further updates and policies.

New Prescription Services

Over the next few months we will be changing the way we handle repeat prescription requests, and it will be EASIER for you.  Please see the prescriptions page for more details.

** We are being encouraged to ask you to buy certain cheaper medicines and creams over the counter e.g. antihistamine, painkillers (including gels), antacids, decongestants, cough and cold treatments**

This can enable you to book appointments, order repeat medications, access blood test results and allow further access to your records.

You can download an application form from the website or collect a form from Reception.

We encourage all patients to provide us with next of kin details which we can record in your medical notes. Please advise Reception of the names and contact details where possible or email them to
